Kristen's DJ reflection

The first time I came into the radio station I was confused, what did all these buttons do? I saw one computer, two headsets and mics, a couple of chairs and me. I was nervous how on earth was I going to learn all of this! So, I put on the headsets and stuttered into the mic "Hi Im K-k-kristen and y-y-you're listening to 107.7 Oak fm St A-albans school". I was really nervous. But soon I got into the swing of things, and started really enjoying it! More and more often I was eager to get on air. I was working with more people and learning how to use all the technological stuff! Being a DJ is great fun, but make sure you are'nt late, or eventually you'll get fired!

reflection

Hello my name is Tyler and this is my reflection on the radio station.
When you are year 6 you get the opportunity to join the radio station but it is a hard job.
Last year i heard that some people got fired.
My days are Mondays.
It is a great way to get better at your public speaking.
But it is hard when you have to turn the buttons and nobs at the same time.
Sometimes we go dead ear which means that it goes dead ear.
This is DJ Tyler over and out.

Oliver's reflection

Every Wednesday morning I go on the radio station. I really enjoy speaking on the radio and I really love how I get yo decide what to say. I also enjoy finding news and writing things like quizzes. I started off really nervous, but now I'm really confident. This year was my first year and I enjoy it more than I thought I would at the start of the year. I've learnt all the technical stuff and now I'm trying to get lots of expression. Being on the radio station is great and I always look forward to going on air.

Radio Station

Being on the radio station is awesome.
On the radio you can sing and dance to the music and talk with your friends.
And best of all you can go on live radio and sometimes accidentally muck-up but you laugh about it later.
Being on the radio is a great experience.
But being on the radio has it's up's and down's such as the other day the radio logic wouldn't work and you couldn't hear anything on the headphones so we had to play music on itunes.
I think being on the radio is so much fun that I might be a DJ when I grow up.  [:

my experience in the oak fm studio

My first experience in the radio station was very nerve wracking and also exciting.
It was funny when I needed to go to the toilet. When I came back I was too scared to come in incase the rest of the group was on air.I ended up waiting out there for about ten minutes!
And it was really fun when I got to turn the knobs!!!!!
After I'd finish my turn on the air I felt a boost in my confidence in public speaking.

Reflection - Lauren

Everytime I go on air I get butterflies. I also get frightened in case I muck up. But I really enjoy having this job because I build on my confidence,  even though  talking in front of an audience I get nervous.  Ever since I have done this, I see the happy side of it and realize that it doesn't matter if I make a mistake because it can always be fixed. :)

How our first week felt...

Being a DJ
When I had my first live show on the radio station, I felt nervous and excited. My body was shaking because I only found out I was going on air in the morning. I go on air at 1:15 on Wednesday with Brooke. Before I went on air,  me and Brooke had to choose songs, storybooks and stings. We turned the microphones on and introduced ourselves and said what the time was, we then played the first song. When the first song was playing we decided what we were going to say next. At this point I didin't feel as nervous because I had already talked on air. When there was 30 seconds left of the song playing, Brooke turned the microphones on waiting silently for the song to finish. When it was finished I introduced the next song and then clicked play. Brooke controls the microphones and I control the computer.
So, my first time on air was great and I'm looking forward to doing more live shows.

Working on OAK FM

Working on OAK FM this week was really fun. I was a DJ last year but I haven't done it for ages and I love it, it's really good for my technology skills controling all those buttons and knobs. The most nerve racking part of being a DJ is you know that loads of people are listening to you.
